Parental controls in 360 WiFi

Learn how to manage parental controls in 360 WiFi for different members of your family. We'll show you how to set up access schedules, content restrictions, and more, with the Quantum Fiber app.

Before you can set parental controls, you have to create one or more profiles and assign devices to them.

Once you've created a profile and added devices to it, you can set up parental controls for that profile. First, select Parental Controls from the Quantum Fiber app dashboard, then select the profile you'd like to manage by tapping the small arrow to the right.

Next, see how to set up:

Parental controls only work for devices connected to 360 WiFi

Keep in mind that parental controls only work for devices connected to your Quantum Fiber 360 WiFi network. Mobile devices may bypass these restrictions by accessing the internet through a mobile carrier.

Set WiFi access schedules

Access schedules let you block internet access on a profile during set hours or days.

From the profile details screen, scroll down to see the Internet Access Schedule section.

Tap Create new schedule.

Enter a schedule name. Then select the days you want this schedule to apply, and the time you want to pause and resume internet access for all devices on that profile. When you're finished, tap Create Schedule.

On the profile details screen, you'll see a list of schedules you've created. You can tap the small X to remove a schedule.

You can also manually pause a profile outside of a scheduled time. This will block WiFi access on that profile until you unpause it.

A note about smart home devices

WiFi access schedules are most effective on personal devices with screens, such as laptops, tablets, and phones. Smart home devices like thermostats, sprinkler systems, security cameras, etc. may not have consistent results. For best results, use the companion app for each specific smart home device to set a schedule.

Set content restrictions

The profile presets include common content restrictions. You can adjust these or create custom category filters through the Parental Controls section. These will apply only while the devices are connected to your 360 WiFi network. Keep in mind users can bypass controls by connecting to mobile data.

Category filters

On the profile details screen, scroll down to the Parental Controls section and select Content Restrictions.

A note about category filters

Online content is filtered using category algorithms. These filters may not catch everything that you as the parent might want to block, or may in some cases block something you want to allow. This is why you also have the option to block and allow specific apps and websites. See instructions below.

Website management

You can block or allow specific websites for any profile. The sites you put on these lists will override any category presets.

On the profile details screen, scroll down to the Parental Controls section and select Website Management.

What happens when you try to access blocked content?

When content is blocked by the restrictions you have set up, you may see a "no connection" error, or the website or app simply will not load.
