Yes, you can run our speed test on any of your devices, or use any web-based speed test you prefer. Keep in mind these kinds of tests show the current speed on that device only, and will not reflect the total bandwidth of your connection.

To restart your freestanding modem manually, follow these steps:
 

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem. Make sure you have unplugged the correct cord by checking that all the lights on the modem turn off.

  2. Wait for 1 minute. Be patient and wait the full minute for the best results. 

  3. Plug the power cord back in and wait for the power light and the internet light to turn green (or the single light ring if you have a white C4000 modem).

  4. You should now be able to get online.

With Instant Internet, the WiFi system should automatically optimize for the best performance in your space. However, if you really want to boost your speed on a specific device, you can connect it directly to a media jack in your home using an Ethernet cable.
