Check the tower modem cords and connections

Click through the screens below to see the steps. All black tower-style modems will have similar ports and features, though yours may look slightly different from the examples shown.

Check that the Ethernet cable coming from the fiber terminal is plugged firmly into the WAN port on the back of the modem.

Check that the power cord is plugged firmly into the power port on the back of the modem. The modem should be plugged into a wall outlet, avoiding use of splitters, extension cords, and power strips.
